My dear Edward

I have received your letter, and sorry am I to own that I have heard rumours of the demands likely to fall upon you for Money, occasioned by the Law Suit. with regard to the Money I am indebted you, I shall be happy to do all & every thing in my power to liquidate it, at as early a period as possible, but such times as these were scarcely ever seen, and how to lay my hands upon the Cash I know not at present, for since this want of confidence, I have been called upon to pay a Sum, which I did not expect to be desired to do, & for which I have been obliged to give my acceptances, but you may rely I will not leave a stone unturned to do what is possible–

I suppose by this time you have heard of the sad & melancholy death of Mr Leonard Parkinson—we only heard it yesterday, Mary has borne it as well as I could expect, but is I am sorry to say in very low spirits–

I am going to London tomorrow Morning with an intention of attending his funeral—& shall return almost immediately– After which I am going to take John to Winchester, as we have at last got a vacancy for him, from whence I fear I shall be obliged to go to Hull—& at which place I have some hopes of doing something for you– I hope Mary & the Children are all well. Make My love to her & tell her as I return from Hull, I intend staying a few days at Hope End, when I hope you will all come & see us, tis now an immense time since you were at Kinnersley– With our united loves to Yourself Mary & Children

believe me

My dear Edward

Yours very Sincerely

Jno A Graham Clarke
