[28 May] [?1826]

To my ever dearest Papa

On his birthday

_________

This is the pleasant month of May

When every flower looks so gay

A fragrant breeze is spread throughout

And every thing smells sweet about

But what’s the sweetness of the air

To our joys, this day, we can’t compare

For it is our parent’s birth

Can anything exceed on earth,?

The happiness, that this does give

And dear Papa may long you live.

_________

Beleive me ever

Your affectionate

Arabel

Address, on integral page: To the King of the day.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Gordon E. Moulton-Barrett.
