I see Spring approaching in all its beauties driving stern Winter before her who in spite of his obstinacy which he is famed for is obliged to retreat to make room for Flora who is coming decorated with various colours and who gives to every thing a new lustre.

But how shall I express my feelings at such a time and on such a day as this[?]

I must call the Muses to my assisstance but they even refuse to lend me their aid. This is indeed Septimus’s birthday every thing looks cheerful and seems to partake of the rejoicings and festivities of it. That every happiness may attend my dearest Septimus is the sincere prayer of his affectionate
