Saturday Feb. 17th [1827]
My ever dearest Henrietta
I do not know how I can escape your anger, as I have missed writing for a fortnight, but the reason is that last Saturday I had not any letter from you so I did not write, but on Tuesday I had one, and ever since I have not had time for I have been very busy; last Thursday night I had a two peney [sic] post letter from you, but who brought It I do not know, as I have not seen Papa, and If it had been him he would have come to see me, most likely. I had a valentine to day but you [sic, for who] from I cannot make, somebody at Charterhouse I think. Tell Seppy he must forgive me, as I really did not know his birthday, I thought it was in June, give my very best love to him: I am the 3d in my form as you wish to know. All our room have settled to have a grand Tuck next Wednesday night and I did not say I wont join till I found out if I could join, I am afraid you cannot as the Pheasant shooting is over, without Bro could kill a rabbit or a hare, I would be very much obliged to you if you would try to get something or other, any thing cold, and send me if you can beg some preserves out of Miney, and some Toffey of your own making, if you possibly can by Thursday night, Wednesday if you can. There is not any news at all, I am going to hadfield to Mr Hartley next Saturday, for he has changed his house and gone there; I shall have very good fun there. We have got a very hard frost and have had a long time. The post goes at five and now it is a qua[r]ter too [sic] so I must wish you goodby for the servant is going directly. I have heard from Tippey. Quite well. I am sorry to say, no more Treech possit. Eleven pounds worth of windows broke in our schoolroom by the <t>own boys. Give my best love to all, when you send the box send me a few books if you can to read as all the books are gone out of the Library. Begg Miney. Love to all. Your ever
