The hills once more are clothed in green,
The skies in welkin blue,
Bright Spring hath decked th’ enamelled scene,
In gems of varied hue–
And thus thy blooming life appears
In prospect bright begun,
And may thy still succeeding years,
Expand neath virtue’s sun.
May sorrows tears be only seen,
As thine own April’s showers,
To make the future’s path more green,
And freshen joy’s gay flowers–
