On her birthday

Now Spring is past and Summer is come

Hie! Comus today you must not be dumb

“Sport that wrinkle care derides

And laughter holding, both his sides.”

For this day ushered Mama into the world

And happiness and joy crowned her little head curled

And sweet Hygeia pray be with her always

And Soluis cheer her with your dazzling rays

Dear Mama this short letter you will excuse

Your pardon to me you never refuse
