On her birthday

Dear Mama was born this day,

For it is the first of May.

I wish you were like the golden Plutus,

And from Proserpine entirely tūtūs;

But indeed you are fair and good,

And she poor thing! can’t bear that mood;

And so to Heaven, I hope you’ll go,

Where they are good and happy too.
