[Hope End]

May 28th 1827.

Oh! happy happiest day! how well beloved you are by us all how many pleasures do we feel on your appearance you are a source of inexhaustible joy to us we should indeed be very ungrateful if we were not thankful to Him for having bestowed on us such a parent to whom we all feel so much love and gratitude. I hope our love for him will always continue I could wish to say something more, affection prompts me to do so but my pen is too much exhausted it is not skilful enough to say all that my heart could on this happy occasion so I must finish my letter in wishing my ever dearest Papa many happy returns of his birthday

Your ever affectionate

Arabel Barrett
