SD687.  Messrs. Grignon Quarrells & West to Samuel Moulton-Barrett (uncle)

7th Feby. 1829

Mr Gayleard cannot pass the Receivers Accts in Barrett vs Barrett without giving us due notice in writing & we will not fail to acquaint you when he does so—indeed as soon as the Draft of his Report is prepared we have bespoken a copy to forward you & shd. Mr. Rd Barrett not have given credit for the pimento picked on the run of Land attached to Thatchfield pen or should there be any other inaccuracies in his account you will have ample time to object to the Report. In the meantime you had better have an affidavit prepared of the fact that the Land in question is that of the Receivership premises wh. came to Mr. Barrett[’]s possession as Receiver & that there are a considerable number of Pimento Trees in the packets—& that during Mr R. Barrett’s possession a cock was killed for one moiety of wh. he is accountable. The Master will require an affidavit to this effect to be laid before him before he can call on Mr R Barrett to account for the pimento——

P.S. Since writing the above it has seemed to us that an attachment was granted in a cause entitled |Campbell| & al Campbell & al against a Mr |Onffury| a tenant in common of one moiety of Little River plantation in |St Ann| for not paying over to James Simpson the Receiver of the other moiety his half of the rents & profits—affidāts of all the circumstances being first made.
