Dear Sir
We are desired by Mr Samuel Moulton Barrett again to apply to you respecting the 89 acres of land adjoining Thatchfield pen in St. Ann’s one undivided moiety whereof Mr S. M. Barrett & his brother as claiming under their grandfather’s will recovered by a Judgment in Ejectment against you as of October Grand Court 1819. A writ of possession was afterwards issued by virtue whereof the representative of the Messrs Barretts obtained possession of their moiety of this land & continued so possessed until the appointment of Receiver. Mr S. M. Barrett as the present Receiver advises us that his right to the possession of his land has been most unequivocally denied & his overseer been repeatedly refused admission thereon. We have therefore to request that you will admit Mr S. Barrett into his equal possession of the land & direct your overseer to offer no further obstruction to his exercising his rightful authority over it. We are further instructed to request you will furnish Mr Gayleard with the quantities of pimento picked on the land in question during the time of your Receivership for one moiety whereof the Receivership premises were entitled to collect & Mr S Barrett will also be obliged by your accounting with him for one moiety of the produce since his appointment of receiver. An answer will oblige
