I am very sorry to communicate my son’s determination to withdraw from the London University, (an event as painful as it was unexpected) but I must at the same time assure you that I am entirely satisfied with every thing that has been done on your part, and make my grateful acknowledgments for the kind and affectionate treatment with which you have always behaved to him–
