My ever dearest Henrietta
As Treppy is going to pack off a box for you tomorrow, I cannot let this opportunity go by without writing, if it is only a line, to thank you for your kind letter; We have been into the cockney’s country to day, as far as Bayswater to see Mrs Sterling, who we found considerably better to day; Mrs Hewan arrived from Jamaica last week, & Miss Scarlett; the latter says when she left Monies & Rebecca she says she never saw them look better; & we heard from Rebecca by the Packet & she says Monies is a great deal better, so much so that he has ridden 24 miles in the burning Sun without being atall unwell by it; but a little tired which he must expect, he had not heard the good news when his letter came away, but was very anxiously waiting for the Packet to hear the deciscion [sic] of the English Court; he does not send a word of news; he is moved fom Cinnamon Hill, & is gone to Retreat Penn which he finds cooler. Every body is going out of Town, Mrs Dun[n] goes on Monday; I am afraid I shall not move this Summer as Treppy is sending this Box off, but as I know I must learn some time or other what I am now doing, I think I had better stay here now, till I have learnt all I have got to learn, & then I shall not have to begin fresh, which I should have to do, had I a new Master; but I really am so anxious to see you all, that if Granny was going I should be delighted, if she does go out of Town it will [be] to Malvern; & either in August or not atall. There is to be a grand Breakfast at the Marquiss of Hertfords House in the Regents Park on Saturday—the Breakfast commences at 5 O clock in the evening, & afterwards there are to be sum [sic] fireworks on the water, I think I shall go & see them if there is a possibility of getting in—if not I cannot go. Mrs Hewit your old friend <comes> to Town either Monday or Sunday from Falmouth where she has been with William, & I suppose he will come to dash off his pair of Poneys [sic] for he drives a pair now. There was a report the day before yesterday that Miss Foot the Actress was murdered, but I suppose it was a false one, for I should have seen it in the paper. Ras[p]berrys in London are 1s 4d a Gallon, I think it is worth your while to send some from Hope End to Covent Garden Market you will get well paid for your trouble. It is getting so dark now at 1/4 to nine that I must drop my pen, get a candle & commence studying. Best of loves to you all & let me ever remain
Your affectionate
Sam.
N.B. Bad Time for Farmer Bro St Swithen [sic] began yesterday to Blubber, no hay Mind & write <whe>never you are able.
