My dearest Henrietta

Treppy has just told me to write you a line to tell you, that you must send one of your best gowns, as Rebecca has written from Jamaica for some, & she said that yours fitted her very well & that the gowns must be made your size, so you must send one of your best directly, not Sunday best but that fits you the best; if any body is coming from your part of the country send it by them, if not send it Per coach, as Treppy is in a great hurry. I wrote you a long letter yesterday; I thought Henery Trant was going off directly so I gave it to him, I therefore have nothing to tell you.

Dearest Gran[n]y was rather better yesterday, but to day is so very foggy, that I do not think she is quite so well; she had a very bad night, her breathing was so very bad; It is so foggy that I can hardly see, & a black frost. Tell Bro that John Gordon beggs to be remembered to him, he is studying very hard at the Law. Dominick & Henery were going to dine yesterday with the gentleman that Blackmore park belonged to, but I forget his name, so you must guess. I have been invited to a party to day but I shall not honour them with my company as you have to pay a guinea admittance, it is something quite new in the fashionable world, I suppose it is merely something by way of a change. I am going into the city to day for Gran[n]y so you must excuse me. Best love to all.
