I leave this place for Birmingham, commencing my routine of visits, wh. may the Lord bless to others & to my own soul. The Lord preseve my precious darling to whom I shall return with delight indeed & tell her all my adventures with Giants Dragons &c, being now compelled to close. Love to all particularly Dear Ellen. Yr. Aff Husband H.J Owen. I think I cd. manage were it worth while to get back on Monday week to dinner but then I must come by Mail to Monmouth & avoid Bristol & thus be unable to settle about the Coach to London. Remember dear Love to write & reckon upon the vile cross lands & Posts so as not to be disappointed if you have not an answer by return of post &c.
