My dear Ann,

I hope you received the letter which Jane wrote for me the other night. I advise you to be very careful, with respect to what you say of Dr Harvey. If you were to say anything actionable, I think there is little doubt that he would prosecute you. I think you must not send for more than fifty pounds. If you want any more, you must make use of certain articles in your possession. Do not make use of those which Ba once had in her care. I think that those are all new and bright. If you are well enough, which I hope will be the case, do not delay coming, any longer than is absolutely necessary. I do not like to run the risk of taking a house, which you might not like,—and the longer you delay, of course there may be fewer houses to choose. Love to little Ann.

I have just received your last letter. You ask me to write directly; or it will delay you. I do not know what I am to write about. I have already told you that I think you cannot write for more than fifty pounds, & that you had better use some of the other.
