Dear Mr Boyd, I am much obliged to you for the trouble you have given yourself about the tea cup. I am most anxious to see it, & to copy it—& if I manage to draw it, I suppose I may consider myself very scientific indeed! May I not? Annie begged me to write to her, but she neither left me her direction nor has she written to me, at which of course I am very angry—I used all my persuasive endeavours to induce her to postpone her trip to Margate, but it was all in vain.
