<***> the Bill of Lading. I also beg you <to pleas>e order the Clerk of the Estates <to s>end me up to 1st of every Jany. a list of the Negroes and Stock upon the Estates with their increase and decrease and the causes for the latter. I hear Papers may be sent by Boddingtons Ships directed to me. I shall be obliged to you to order a considerable quantity of cocoanut Trees to be planted upon the Estates. I shall send out by the John Mr. Clarkes ship 2 pairs of Colours one a Piece for the four Estates, I shall also send soon, some old Clooths for the Negroes upon Oxford and Cambridge, which I begg you will desire the Overseers to distribute. I have seen Hilton and he talks of quitting England in the next Packet, I really think him a valuable Man, his attachment to us is very great. My brother is not yet returned but I hope to see him before Christmas. <I think> the continent has not in these times many inducements [to] keep a Man abroad. We <are> waiting with great anxiety <for> the meeting of Parliament in hopes they might do something for us poor Devils.
I requested by the last Packet that you would for the future send 70 or 80 hhds. to Mr. Hartly of Whitehaven, and that a similar quantity to what you send this year to Newcastle will be sufficient. I also begged you would desire the hhds. to be made to hold from 16 to 18 cwt and to order them people to pack them well as I wish not to look to the quantity of the hhds. but to the economy having been informall. the greater there is in cooperage, Colour &c. Comply for the future to execute a little of the business of the Estates in the Country. I shall thank you to send me for the future resale those lists of supplies, also duplicates <***>
