Sunday– [June 12 1836] [1]

My dear Badley

I should be much obliged to you if you would either in person or by deputy buy for me at Ward’s sale on Friday a large size Brass Bedste[a]d with Mattress. &c. &c can be a handsome Brass Sofa with French Top– I |am quite set though| I bought a Secretary & Chest of drawers made in India of Teak &c (a curious article)[.] I have to furnish a house in St Ann’s & these things, it seems to me, will make a beginning—supposing them to be as described[—]handsome & curious– I may have the advantage of being provided with packing cases, which, as they are to travel by Land & Water is a great recommendation– I do not object to a private bargain if the price is moderate,—whatever you do or direct to be done I shall be content. If the furniture disappoints me, I can put it in the inferior rooms at Tydenham & no harm done–

If the Bond is not filled up, do not put any name—I fear |Mandrum| has left town, & Robert Watt wants to go.
