Monday. [8 February 1864] [1]
Dear Mrs Wedgewood,
It may happen that I shall be unable to deliver these few notes myself this morning—in such a case, this must be my cordial good-bye.
I have begged Miss Hosmer to introduce you to Gibson [2] —she being herself well worth seeing and knowing.
If you give the enclosed card to Brini he will render you any service at Florence, change circular notes, no matter on what Bank, to your greatest advantage, dispatch any purchases to England &c &c[.]
I give you a note to my intimate friend Miss Blagden, [3] living in a Villa close by Bellosguardo—in case she can be of use, she will. If you go to Powers’ studio, in Via della Fornace, and mention my name, he will show you everything there. I may say the same of Mademoiselle de Fauveau—a woman of genius—opposite in the same street. Should you want a very good and cheap picture-copyist my friend Mignaty, of the Studios in Via de’ Ginori, will satisfy you.
And so, cordially once again, good bye!
