Many thanks for your kindness: I am pre-engaged,—go to your neighbours the Palgraves. [1] I daresay your trip to Cambridge was a great pleasure to all concerned in it. [2] I think I saw the sisters [3] at Ella’s last week: I rejoice to hear good news of them.

1. RB’s address book of this period (AB-5) lists Mrs. Bayne at 40 York Terrace and Francis Turner Palgrave at 5 York Gate. York Gate bisects York Terrace on the south side of Regent’s Park.

2. Among the “all” were probably Mrs. Bayne’s father and his friend William Whewell (see letter 5293, note 2).
