[Boston—Wednesday, 29 November 1865]

Wednesday. Sewing Circle (which I went several miles for but could not find the house) & calls filled the morning. Louisa & Mr Beal & the children came to dine and passed the early evening—too tired for much after they went.

Jamie had a note from Mr Wasson thanking him for his frankness in telling him his poem was bad but disagreeing with his opinion.
