[Boston—Sunday, 10 January 1869]

Sunday Jany 10. I feel rather tired this morning. Tues. night we went to the opera. Wed. to see “Dot” which was most lovely. Thursday concert in the afternoon, talked all the eve. at home. Friday, party at Mrs Agassiz with lecture by the Professor upon his favorite glacial theory, his subject, the American glacier, his small diagram and wonderful use of language make the whole perfectly clear so that Mabel gave me the whole substance the next morning in a few words. Saturday Mr Emerson’s lecture in the afternoon, Ole Bull in the eve. Today company at home.
