May 3. Both Longfellow & Holmes have expressed the pleasure they enjoyed at the dinner. Longfellow dropped in on purpose.
Made calls and arrangements for Philadelphia. Young Mr. Henry Reed just arrived, passed the evening here. Jamie went to Manchester, found our hill a mass of roses and Watson ready to go to work.
