[Manchester—Wednesday, 28 June 1876]

Wednesday. June 28. Walked as usual in the morning while Dear J. entertained the Chicago agent Mr. Slayton and sent him on rejoicing.

The warmest day of the year. Took tea at the dear Bartols to meet the two Bigelow sisters who will come to us next week. Came home in the half clouded moonlight—soft and beautiful.
