Sunday. Oct 30.

We cannot persuade Bummy to write to Papa to urge his decision. After all, I believe that she is right. He is in possession of every circumstance relating to her embarassment, & is not likely to allow her to remain in it, if he is able to do otherwise. Poor dear dear Papa!—may God support him, & bless him!-- I feel as if I loved him more than I ever did before!—

I hear that Eliza Cliffe was to have returned last Thursday. Has she brought my book? Shall I have it today? I am in fidgets about it!— And if it does come, how shall I give it to Mr. Boyd? Take it?—or send it?— Will he be pleased?— He must be pleased with it: but will he be pleased with me?—

There may be a letter from Papa to Bummy, today.

No letter—& no book!— This is borribile dictu!—
